An Arborist Plans for Climate Creep
A few months ago, I spoke with an arborist for a Wisconsin community.
To him, climate change is unstoppable.
So he is being proactive in ways that I had not contemplated.
Presently, he’s planting tree varieties from Kentucky and Tennessee.
Why? He thinks that they will be well suited to the climate in Wisconsin forty or so years from now.
That’s an unusual (and compelling) outlook, isn’t it?
Call it a public policy trifecta. It’s visionary, wise – and practical.
